The secrets of its success

logo cilantro v5Cilantro Engineering is a privately-owned company specialising in Mechanical Electrical and Protective Services. Since it was founded in 2003, the company has grown to an annual turnover of over £65million.

It counts many blue-chip businesses amongst its client base such as Mace, Lend Lease, The Berkeley Group and Ballymore Group.

Earlier this year they completed 650 residential units and the site-wide energy units at Royal Wharf and also achieved practical completion on developing a quality MEP Fit out and infrastructure for 200 high-end residential apartments as part of an initial stage of the London City Island development.

Another exciting project is Embassy Gardens, home to what will be London’s only skypool, where Cilantro were appointed to work as part of a collaborative team to deliver Design and Build MEP Installations of the highest possible standard. An example of their commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Cilantro Engineering has recently expanded into the Irish market and will provide MEP services on the development of 498 residential units at Dublin Landings with Ballymore Group.

So what lies behind this rapid growth and success?

The company prides itself on innovation, client relationships and its people.

Examples of Cilantro’s appetite to innovate are plentiful and has been one of the areas where we have been supporting them.

Our first project working with Cilantro was to provide them with guidance and assistance to help them put together their first Research & Development claim. It was clear Cilantro are a highly innovative company and the successful claim was not only very satisfying but also very encouraging to motivate the company to continue to develop and innovate.

Client Relationships

Cilantro Financial Director explains:

We believe that trusting and long-term relationships with our clients are key. Hence, we are very committed to understanding those and how to deliver a top quality project for them. As a result of prioritising our clients’ requirements, we enjoy great working relationships. More commercially, it also means we are invited to become involved in the development of some really cutting-edge engineering such as the skypool at Embassy Gardens with Ballymore Group.

We know that the quality of our service relies on the quality of our people and their motivation. Our employees understand that the success of our company is driven by the quality of the service we deliver to our clients. It is the ethos of our company. We work hard and pride ourselves on delivering high quality MEP services to our clients. This is evident by the repeat business over the years from LendLease, The Berkeley Group and Ballymore Group.

Quality is not an act, it is a habit. We have implemented QA processes and procedures and we religiously follow them on a daily basis to ensure we have delivered our services to the best possible standard.

Cilantro and Goodman Jones

Cilantro Financial Director said:

We have only recently become clients of Goodman Jones and, as you would expect from an organisation that has quality at its core, we went through a rigorous selection process. Once it was clear that they had the credentials and expertise in our sector, they simply won the day by the approach they took. It spoke volumes to us that Goodman Jones, like Cilantro, really invests in understanding a client’s business and then provides sustainable advice that supports long term success. Not just quick fixes.

Since appointing GJ our first impressions have been borne out and we are delighted with the work that Matt and the team have been doing, they have exceeded our expectations with their level of professionalism, their knowledge, their commitment to us as a client and they have delivered on every project we have engaged them for. We definitely made the right decision choosing Goodman Jones as our advisors.
